Stycco Grip F32 Mastic Adhesive 350ml cartridge

Stycco Grip F32 Mastic Adhesive 350ml cartridge

Our Price: £2.54 (Excluding VAT at 15%)

A high strength, single component, gap filling mastic adhesive for use both internally and externally. The dry

film is resistant to some oils and solvents and will withstand temperatures up to 50°C, making it suitable for use over normal underfloor heating.

FOR SECURING - A wide range of absorbent and non-absorbent materials, such as wood, wood composite materials, concrete, concrete blocks, breeze blocks, brick, stone, plaster, plaster board, board products and rigid insulation materials. May be used with most metals, UPVC extrusions and laminated plastics.

PREPARATION - Conditions must comply with the relevant British Standard. Proper surface preparation is essential. Surfaces must be sound, dry, flat and free from any contaminants which will prevent adhesion. Where surface smoothing is required use STOPGAP smoothing underlayments. Metal surfaces must be abraded to remove scale and provide a key. The underside of metal nosings should be cleaned with STYCCOCLEAN solvent.

TOOLS - Application gun.

PACKAGES - 350ml cartridge.

APPLICATION - Insert the cartridge into the application gun, cut the nozzle to the required diameter and break the seal at the bottom of the nozzle. For best results a 5mm bead should be run out and the surfaces brought together with a slip action to ensure that any skin of the applied bead is dispersed.

Nosings: Place the nosing in position on the step and mark a line on the step as a guide for application. Remove the nosing and apply a 5mm bead of adhesive along the angle edge, the full length of the step. Apply another bead if adhesive is about 10mm inside the marked line and additional beads, according to the width of the nosing e.g. 50mm=3 strips, 75mm=4 strips etc.

Extrusions and grippers: Place the extrusion or gripper in position and mark the base along both edges as a guide to adhesive application. Apply a bead of adhesive approximately 10mm inside each guide line add further beads as required, according to the width, as described for Nosings.

Make the bond by one of the techniques described below:-

TECHNIQUES - METHOD 1 - Place the nosing etc. in position as soon after the adhesive has been applied as possible and in any case within the open time. Apply maximum pressure along the full length and pin at both ends to prevent movement until the adhesive has set, about 48 hours on absorbent surfaces.

METHOD 2 - Place the nosing etc. in position within the adhesive’s open time, press firmly into place and then remove it again. Leave the two adhesive coated surfaces open for 10-15 minutes, to allow the solvent to evaporate, then replace the nosing etc. and apply maximum pressure along the full length. Pin at both ends to prevent movement until the adhesive has set, about 12 hours. This method is particularly recommended for

non-absorbent surfaces.

PRECAUTIONS - Prevent the use of stairs where nosings etc. have been fixed until the adhesive has fully set.

Do not stretch carpets onto grippers until the adhesive has fully set. Where the bond is going to be subjected to any loading, before the adhesive has fully set, mechanical support must be used to prevent the adhesive from being disturbed. The bond line must be protected from driving rain and standing water.

Highly flammable, observe the Health and Safety information

provided.

APPLICATION - Holding the trowel at an angle of 60°, spread the adhesive evenly over an area of subfloor that can be coveredwhilst the adhesive remains receptive and gives good transfer. On absorbent surfaces - lay the floor covering immediately, When installing tiles, leave the adhesive for approximately 10

minutes before placing the flooring, to reduce the potential for sliding.

Roller application - to minimise the effect of adhesive shadowing through vinyl floorcovering. Apply the adhesive then immediately roll with a paint roller, which has been pre-wetted with the adhesive, to obtain a smooth, uniform appearance. Place the floorcovering whilst the adhesive remains tacky and receptive.

Non-absorbent surfaces - Apply the adhesive and allow to partially dry to a firm tack before laying the floorcovering.

When installing impervious sheet floorcoverings Double drop technique can be used to reduce the time taken waiting for the adhesive to dry. Lay the floorcovering into the wet adhesive, press all over to achieve transfer, then pull it back exposing the adhesive. Leave until the adhesive has dried to a firm tack before replacing the flooring accurately in position.

Roller application - To minimise the effect of adhesive shadowing through vinyl floorcovering. Apply the adhesive then immediately roll with a paint roller, which has been pre-wetted with the adhesive, to obtain a smooth, uniform appearance.

Place the floorcovering when the adhesive has dried to a firm tack and still receptive to the floorcovering. DO NOT use the roller to extend the stated coverage as this will reduce adhesion.

Styccobond F41 Surface Tackifier with Rust Inhibitor for Carpet Tiles

DESCRIPTION - A solvent free acrylic polymer emulsion adhesive, that contains a rust inhibitor. It is designed to

provide a permanently tacky film which prevents ‘loose-lay’ carpet tiles from moving under normal traffic but enables them to be lifted and replaced easily when required. It is non-flammable, is protected against biodegradation, is resistant to plasticiser migration and will withstand normal wet cleaning techniques.

FOR SECURING - Carpet tiles backed with bitumen/felt, non-woven fabric, PVC and other polymer backings.

for details of specific carpet tiles.

ONTO - Sound, smooth, dry absorbent subfloors of concrete, sand/cement screed, and other smoothing underlayments, flooring grade chipboard, plywood and hardboard. Non-absorbent surfaces such as

terrazzo, granolithic, waterproof membranes, steel, thermoplastic tiles and quarry tiles, linoleum and vinyl

floorcoverings. Asphalt must be skimmed with a minimum of 3mm of the appropriate STOPGAP smoothing

underlayment.

STANDARDS - All aspects of the installation should be in accordance with the requirements BS5325 (Installation of Textile Floorcoverings) and supplementary specifications.

PREPARATION - Proper subfloor preparation is essential to the correct installation of any floorcovering. Subfloors must be sound, smooth, dry and free from any contaminantswhich will affect adhesion. Existing smooth floorings must be firmly fixed with all traces of polish removed.

DAMP BASES - Treat with waterproof surface membranes.

SMOOTHING - Use smoothing underlayments.

TOOLS - STYCCOBOND Paint roller or medium stiff brush. Tools should be cleaned with warm soapy water while the adhesive is still wet.

APPLICATION - Using the brush or roller, apply the adhesive evenly to the subfloor, over the whole area to be covered. Allow to dry to a clear, tacky film before placing the carpet tiles in position, pressing firmly from the centre outwards and paying particular attention to the edges. When used over a raised access panel system, the tackifier should be poured into a tray and applied carefully using a roller to avoid excess adhesive seeping between individual panels and achieve the recommended coverage figure.

Installation of PVC backed carpet tiles over vinyl floorcoverings - Apply STYCCOBOND F41 by brush or roller in

bands to the back of the tile, avoiding the edges. Allow to dry before placing the tile in position.

PRECAUTIONS - Do not place the tiles before the adhesive has dried to a clear film. This can result in a permanent bond being formed. In heavy traffic areas e.g. where concentrated stiletto heel or

heavy wheeled traffic is anticipated, permanently bonding tiles has been found to help extend their life. Consult the tile manufacturer for his advice in these situations.
